My Place – Foods and Doctor, any connection?

äåíííííäåíííííäå

I enjoy eating local cuisines at Malaysian street stalls, but eating at restaurants especially those high-end restaurants, that is a different kettle of fish. There is certainly having nothing to do with the price, and the restrictiveness these restaurants offer.

Having local foods at a small, crowded stall by the side of the folks here is a health revolution which I can totally forget about the after effects these fatty, salty, sugary foods bring to the well being. Eating in an open space like on the street is a way outside my comfort zone but that will not stop me from persist on a few mouthfuls. This is the reward of fulfilment and stuff I never have in high-end restaurant.

Moreover, that familiar faces I saw each time visiting the stall can make me feel as I am accompanied when come to live against the norm. Forget about the tools, the hygiene, and the filthy environment, filling belly with street foods is a soothing effect from inside out. Except that I would be visiting doctor more often from then on.

I do like visiting classy restaurant every so often, just to indulge myself with a little luxuriousness. Though, when ordering unwholesome stuffs to please the belly, often pull back by the creepy look from the waiter.

Then I look around and all of a sudden fully awake, that I am surrounded by elegant, opulent furnishings and strange faces. Under the dim lights the atmosphere is exceptional affectionate, calm and pleasant. Just imagine having a pot full of blistering, strong taste Assam Laksa(local’s delight) on the front table in the midst of this, result is really devastating, awful.

Despite the mind bombarding by appetizing junk-food, the finger pointing to something not exactly I want to chew from that costly meal. But the long-term effect on the customers after that costly meal earned the next visit. Above all, the rewarding sense of survived and secured is the cause.

Good food for healthy life. What we eat in every day would hold clues on how frequent do we have to visit the physician. Just like the Chinese old sayings, “病從口入,禍從口出“; illness comes in via the mouth because of food and trouble goes out via the mouth because of words.

Bon appétit.
