Teluk Batik trip was not an ordinary family vacation. It means more than just a typical get-together family gathering. The warmth of authentic memories that give us an idea about what “family” meant for. For the most part, it showed the real beauty in the close-knit family and companionship that formed a crucial part of the vacation.
Why do I say so? On the face of it, we were there for the sandy beaches, beautiful landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere, indeed, the families were there in “somebody’s company”. For some fundamental reasons – our caring and compassionate feelings went out to my sister and her kids, who were enduring years long of the marriage crisis.
The aftermath of the vacation was thrilling, everyone, especially my niece and nephews, had enjoyed our company; they were happy being surrounded by their grandparents, uncles, aunties and cousins.
I was, above all, overwhelmed and touched by my nephew’s expressions – not at all had he thought of being surrounded, loved and cared by so many lovely people from a family. He was in high spirits, and all the “inward scars” of the recent tough times are at this instant faded altogether.
It was a tremendous, unforgettable and joyful holiday; those who were there felt the need to be there, they played the part of being a family member- this was the heartening side of the whole family vacation.
