Learning German was an accident

Years of learning German: 3 years

When someone asks me about learning German, I am sort of facing “Chicken or Egg” circular argument. Interest comes first, or fulfilment comes first? Neither. In fact, I did not observe the superlative face of learning German until I become part of the process. It was an accident. There’re no needs where I feel I am obliged to learn German or a new language. It was not even a supplementary which forced on me that I have to do it.

I registered into the beginner class not knowing how a foreign language class looks like. I remembered being so stunned by the German pronunciation after my first lesson.

Years after learning German, there is a drastic change on me. Not only I have learned a new skill, but also I have perfected my accent, speech and grammar skill in English. Let’s say it is a “make two wishes upon a star” repercussion. For many, it is just one of the ways of getting to know a foreign culture. For me, no single word evokes as much as excitement as learning German here.

To my German instructors – Frank and Julia, thank you for filling us loads of enthusiasm and reason of learning German.
